StrongerHer Wellness Foundation Mission, Vision and History
History of StrongerHer Wellness Foundation
StrongerHer Wellness Foundation was established with a profound commitment to supporting immigrant women on their journey towards personal and professional success. Recognizing the unique challenges that immigrant women face as they strive to establish themselves in new communities, the foundation was born out of a passionate belief that a holistic approach encompassing wellness, fitness, relationships, and community support is fundamental for their overall well-being and integration.
In an increasingly interconnected world, the need for a specialized organization to address the specific struggles of immigrant women became evident. Many of these women arrive with impressive education and professional achievements, yet find themselves battling mental and physical exhaustion, loneliness, and vulnerability due to the absence of familial and friend networks in their new countries.
StrongerHer Wellness Foundation was founded to bridge this gap, offering a lifeline of education, advocacy, support, and a safe space for immigrant women to flourish. United in their vision, the foundation warmly welcomes women from all countries of origin, races, and religions, fostering an inclusive and diverse community.

Zamira’s lifelong journey as a fitness professional began as a teenager leading group dance classes for fun in Baku, Azerbaijan and Istanbul, Türkiye. Within months of leading her first lessons she opened her own studio, launching an accomplished career spanning the globe over two decades to support thousands of clients, friends and family in pursuing their wellness goals in several languages.
Zamira immigrated to the U.S. in 2013 and immediately began work as a group dance and fitness instructor in her new home state of California. She fell in love with the culture of health, wellness and inclusion for which the Golden State is famous, and dedicated herself to the advancement of personal fitness in her own life and for others.
Drawing on her personal experience as an immigrant who initially struggled to adapt her healthy eating habits to the American food environment – where one is surrounded by unhealthy options and misleading/confusing marketing claims – Zamira launched a coaching practice to support immigrant women in developing their own nutritional and physical wellness strategies.
Zamira’s practice thrived over the next several years. In keeping with her innate urge to “stay busy,” she used her spare time to beome a successful fitness model and take on a personal one-year challenge to train for all-natural bodybuilding competitions. That year, Zamira earned 1st Place at the 2016 NGA Natural Ms. Bikini California (Pro Qualifier) and was a Finalist at the 2016 NPC California Governors Cup Bikini Bodybuilding Competition.
In 2019 Zamira wound down her coaching practice to focus on a select few pro-bono engagements, allowing more time for travel and personal exploration.
Zamira proudly continues service to serve her community as a Founding Board Member of the StrongerHer, a San Francisco-based nonprofit dedicated to StrongerHer. She and her husband reside in San Francisco, and Zamira enjoys trading notes on emergent trends in the fitness and nutrition space with her amazing network of wellness professionals, friends and family.
Zamira has a degree in Economics from Moscow University and is fluent (verbal/written) in Turkish, Russian, Azeri and English.

She was exposed to different maladies such as eczema, IBS, arthritis and turned to nutrition for answers and self-diagnosis. Ever since then, she’s been passionate about nutrition as key to well-being along with an active lifestyle and wants to channel her energy in helping others be mindful and aware in all things health related.
